Binkley Elementary School, a California Distinguished School, has stood for excellence in education for over 30 years. In 2008 Binkley was recognized as a best practice school by the Sonoma County Association of School Administrators, as well as being one of only five elementary schools in the county to receive the California Distinguished School award.

Binkley prides itself on creating an outstanding school community where the faculty and parents work together to ensure teaching and learning is taking place. Tucked against the foothills of Rincon Valley, Binkley is a wonderful place to work, play, and learn.

Dear Binkley Families,

Welcome to the 2010-11 school year. The staff and I are looking forward to seeing all the students come to school on August 18th and welcome them to a new school year. I hope you all enjoyed a great summer and are eager to get into the school routine. I want to share with you just a few quick things to get the year started.

• The classroom posting will be on Tuesday, August 17th at 5:00PM. Come down and see who your child’s teacher is. If you can’t make it that evening, check it in the morning when you arrive.

• All grades attend school from 8:30AM-2:55PM, except on Wednesday’s when the dismissal time is 1:55PM. Please be advised the first day of school is a Wednesday and dismissal time will be 1:55PM.

• Breakfast is available in the Cafeteria from 8:00-8:30AM and a second chance breakfast is available at the first recess.

• On the first day of school your child will get a packet of information to take home. Please fill out that information accurately and quickly and have your child return it to his or her teacher as soon as possible.

• Back to School Night is on September 2. Please plan to attend so you can meet the staff, hear about the great things Binkley has to offer, and meet your child’s teacher and hear about your child’s classroom and expectations.

I’m excited for a great year and I hope you are too. I believe Binkley is an outstanding school, and with your help and support in making a home-school connection a priority, I believe we can continue to grow and make this school better than ever.
