Information regarding Measure B

On Tuesday, April 11, 2006, the voters in the Rincon Valley School District passed Measure B, which increased and replaced the existing district parcel tax of $39 per year at a rate of $60 per year with an annual $3 increase. The Measure B parcel tax will last for twelve years and required a two-thirds voter approval for passage.

Measure B:

Allows the district to provide tutorial help to those students struggling with basic skills like math and reading.
Allows the expansion and strengthening of the district's art and music program
Increases Library/Media Center hours
Allows for the the development of an extensive hands-on science program at each school

An exemption from Measure B is available to those who are at least 65 years old and own and reside in their home.
