Intervention
Programs
Intervention programs
in the Rincon Valley Union School District are designed to support student
learning of the district's standards. Each school provides a standards
support program. These programs are designed to assist students in reading,
math, writing, and grammar during the school day. Before and after school,
teachers tutor students to assist them in passing the district standards.
In addition, the district provides a spring and summer school program
to assist students meet their grade level standards. The combination
of these interventions and a variety of others at each school such as
Homework Club, Math Facts Club and so forth, provide the students in
the district with tremendous opportunities to be successful.
Special
Education
The district provides a full range of special education services
including psychological services, three special day classes, resource
specialist programs at all eight schools, speech and language services,
a full inclusion program, and adaptive physical education. Other special
education programs or services are contracted on an annual basis. The
goal of the special education program is to assist students to be successful
in school. The teachers write goals and objectives based upon the state
and district curriculum. Support staff is trained to assist students
both in and out of the classroom.
