Dear Spring Creek Families,

I am so excited about the Move-a-thon this Saturday, Sept. 28th. Our school goal is to raise $15,000. This is our largest fundraiser of the year.  Please help us reach our goal. I encourage all families to get pledges this week. I will see you there at 3:30! Our Author Assembly featuring Sydney Smith, from Canada was a big hit. Thanks to our wonderful librarian Kathy Pascar for arranging this event.

Parent teacher conferences will be held the next two weeks of school with early dismissal at 1:42. Teachers have worked hard over their weekend to prepare for your child’s conference. They look forward to meeting with you to  discuss your child’s progress and listen to your concerns.

Morning Drop-Off and Supervision

Students who arrive at school between 7:45 and 8:00 must report to the kinder playground. Once we have yard duty coverage on the big yard, an announcement will be made at the kinder play structure for 1st, 2nd and 3rd graders to go the big yard only when we have supervision on the big yard. We have many students who are playing on the big yard without any supervision. Sometimes they think that if they see an adult out there that they are being supervised. The supervision needs to be a teacher or substitute teacher. Please help us keep students safe. Thanks for your help.

On rainy days students will report to the Multi Purpose Room (MPR) to watch a movie.

Cheetah Awards Assemblies will be the third Friday of each month at 8:30.

Teachers will notify you if your student is receiving an award that month.

More About Walk and Roll on Oct. 2nd

We know it’s not always possible to walk or bike to school, so we also want to encourage carpooling, especially during the rainy winter months. In Sonoma County, about 5% of students carpool to school on average, and over 65% travel by single family vehicles. Safe Routes to School is a program that encourages parents to try to overcome some of the hurdles in organizing carpools. There are many benefits to carpooling. Students develop lasting friendships and parents save time and money. With carpooling there is a reduction in traffic and pollution. If you can’t walk, bike, scooter, then try carpooling. Visit our table for some prizes at our Walk & Roll event on Oct. 2nd! See you there.

Enjoy your week,
