Hello Spring Creek Families,

Last week was a roller coaster of unknowns. Is school going to be open? When is school going to reopen? Is the power going off? When is the power going back on?

This uncertainty may have left you feeling anxious or stressed. It also may have triggered unhappy memories from last year's smoke days and the 2017 Tubb's Fire. I think that at different times throughout the week all of us experienced bouts of anxiety and unhappiness, I know I did, and I also know that this is a perfectly normal and expected response to unexpected events.

I am so glad the power was restored and we were able to open school. I hope all of you have also had a chance to reset and restore yourselves, we have to remember to take care of ourselves so that we can take care of others.

While school is back in session, fire season is still with us. This means that until the rains fully set in we could experience another planned power outage. You all now know exactly what a planned power outage looks and feels like, and while if there is another one it won't be pleasant, it won't hit us with the same level of unexpected stressors.

If you have students going into 7th or 8th grade, please consider attending this Family Information Night.

Halloween Costumes and Parade:

  • Please join us for our Halloween Parade and Music Assembly on Oct. 31st. No costumes with weapons and blood please. Masks can not be worn in the classroom or at recess. Check with your child’s teacher regarding food that is acceptable for the Halloween Party.

Parking: Thank you for your help. The parking is getting better!!

Here are the places you can park and leave your vehicle unattended:

  • Along the curb on Mayette or nearby streets.

  • Beth Ami is allowing us to park at the  far west parking lot. That is the lot closest to Yulupa Ave, not the lot closest to Beth Ami and our school.

Please do not leave your car parked in the white zone unless you are in your vehicle.

The following  locations are places you CAN’T park or drive:

  • Staff parking lot is for staff only please. We have staff that come and go all day long especially during transition times. Please do not drop off in the staff parking lot. If you have a handicap sticker, you may park in the spots marked handicap which are located in the staff parking lot.

  • Friedman center parking lot, across from the staff parking lot is not available to Spring Creek parents.

The  parking rules are for the safety of the students and families while also working with our neighbors across the street that kindly let us use their parking lot. We appreciate your support.
