All Eagles Soar, Whatever It Takes!
Dear Whited, Families,
What a week it has been! I sure hope you are all settling in after a traumatic week of uncertainty. Please know that we are looking forward to welcoming students back on Monday and I think we are all eager to return to a more normal routine. If your child is having a hard time, please do not hesitate to let me or their teacher (or both) know so we can help support them. Something I posted on the Whited Facebook page is a helpful tip when things seem bad to children or adults. One of my favorites from my childhood, Mr. Rogers, reminded people to "Look for the helpers". Wow, have we had some amazing helpers in our community! On Monday, we will have some card making supplies available for kids who would like to thank the many men and women who have been helping in our community.
On Wednesday, we would like to have some fun with a spirit day. While we are not having our usual parade this year, we would like to give everyone a chance to wear either a costume of pajamas to school on Wednesday. Some kids likely did not get a costume this year (or maybe it didn't hold up after wearing it already), so by adding pajamas as an option, hopefully everyone can feel included who would like to participate.
While the air has been surprisingly good the past couple of days, we will be monitoring and keeping a close eye on it to determine if we need to switch to an indoor schedule. I use airnow.gov to guide the decision.
We had many parent meetings scheduled during the time we were closed. We will be in touch at the beginning of the week to get those rescheduled.
