Dear Spring Creek Families,

Thank you Spring Creek families for helping be a part of the solution to our parking, pick up and drop off. We had our PTA members, parents, the principal at Matanzas, and myself out in force to educate families about parking at Spring Creek last Monday. Additionally, parking information and a map were sent home in both English and Spanish in the Friday folders. I would love to have more parent volunteer help, even if you only have 15 minutes. Thank you in advance for using the crosswalks only and staying in your vehicle in the white curb drop off zone. The idea is to keep pulling forward in the white zone.

Proud Principal. When students demonstrate character traits such as kindness, respect, perseverance, hard work, passing a level of Lexia, learning all of the sight words, etc., teachers will send them up to the office to receive a sticker that says “Your Principal is Proud of You.”  Additionally, a note comes home to you as to why your child was selected for the Proud Principal Award. Each Friday I will take photos of all of the students who were sent to the office and put the photo in my weekly newsletter. Seeing kids in my office for making positive choices was so rewarding. Here is a photo from last week. I am so proud of these students.

Did you know?

  • PE-We have an amazing credential PE teacher, Coach Wilson. Coach Wilson takes our students four times a week and teaches them the PE standards in a fun and engaging way. While coach Wilson has half of the students from each class per grade level, teachers work with the remaining students to provide small group instruction.

  • Counselor-We have a school counselor that is on our site part time. Ms. Krista goes into classrooms and teaches social-emotional learning using our district adopted curriculum. Additionally, she facilitates classroom circles and friendship groups. Thank you, Ms. Krista, for ALL you do.

  • Recess Options- Ms. Ana, our English Language Assistant, volunteers her lunch time to offer two programs to our students during lunch recess. Restful Recess is an option for students who want to have an indoor recess option. Ms. Ana prepares art activities, games and quiet activities. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, she runs the Culture Club. Students learn about different cultures, engage in cultural arts and music. Thank you Ms. Ana.

  • Music- Once a week students attend a half hour music class taught by credentialed music teachers. Third graders are learning to read music and play song flutes.
