https://www.scoe.org/pub/htdocs/news-archive.html?news_id=1295 (pdf here) announcing the continuation of distance learning in all county schools through the end of May. “To reduce the spread of COVID 19, Governor Gavin Newsom and State Superintendent Tony Thurmond provided guidance Wednesday that school will continue to take place via distance learning rather than on school campuses throughout the remainder of the 2019-20 school year in California. Sonoma County schools are responding to this call to action by working extremely hard to ensure quality learning opportunities for students via distance learning through the end of the 2019-20 school year.”
Rincon Valley Union School District will be increasing its efforts to make sure students and families stay connected virtually with schools and their teachers over the next two months. These efforts include continued training and support for teachers, specialists and principals, distribution of chromebooks to families in need, continued exploration of options for internet access for homes currently without. Free meal service will continue to be provided at Whited and Village schools daily from 11:30am-1:30pm.
We all feel such emotion around such a big decision. We can’t stand that we are not with our students through this pandemic, but we are forced to do just the opposite - to physically (not socially) distance ourselves from our students, our colleagues, and some of our own family members. We will get through this. We are working hard to mitigate the negative impacts of these life-changing events and we will do it together.

No podemos soportar que no estemos con nuestros estudiantes durante esta pandemia, pero nos vemos obligados a hacer todo lo contrario: distanciarnos físicamente (no socialmente) de nuestros estudiantes, nuestros colegas y algunos de los miembros de nuestra propia familia. Vamos a salir de esto. Estamos trabajando duro para mitigar los impactos negativos de estos eventos que cambian la vida y lo haremos juntos.
