Week of January 6, 2020
Message from the Principal
Happy New Year! We are looking forward to new possibilities in the year 2020, and helping students grow! We are always shocked by just how much they grow during the winter break, and were excited to see new hairstyles and lots of smiling faces this week.
It often takes a few days to get back into the routine of school after time off, so please help your child to readjust by encouraging them to eat healthily, get outdoors in the afternoons as much as possible, and get to bed early. Please see below for reminders about important upcoming dates and opportunities to get our school community together. We are looking forward to an exciting 2020 at RVCS!

One of the great things about your child attending a charter school is the opportunity to give back to the school community! We ask every family to try to give 10 hours of volunteer time each year. Our upcoming PA meeting day and time has changed! Our meetings will now be the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm. Our next meeting is Wednesday, January 22nd at 6:30. Please join us and learn more about how to help your child’s school!
Upcoming Trivia Night:
Please join us for a fun family Trivia Night! Save the date on January 31st for trivia, snacks and some fun competition. More information coming at the end of the week!
Chorus starts again before school on Thursday, January 17th from 7:45-8:25 in room P5 (Sequoia). New members are welcome to join during January and February! District Discussion of Reconfiguration
At the upcoming school board meeting on January 14th, the board will continue the discussion and move forward with a district plan regarding the possible reconfiguration of schools in RVUSD. Please see the website https://rvusdfuture.org/ for more information and to provide feedback and input on this decision.
Our executive committee meets several times per year to discuss our schools’ safety plans, LCAP and other school site information. This is an important committee that helps make decisions about how best to support students in our school environment. Our next meeting this year will be January 22nd at 4 pm. Please let us know if you would like to participate in this committee. You can contact Hannah Bates at email@example.com
