At the RVUSD Board of Trustees Meeting on Tuesday, January 14, 2020, the RVUSD Board of Trustees voted to reconfigure the long-term uses of the Spring Creek, Sequoia, and Matanzas campuses. After numerous public meetings, staff meetings, faculty meetings, campus leadership meetings, PTA meetings and other gatherings over the last 4 – 5 months informing the public of the District’s consideration on the reconfiguration use of these four campuses, the Board of Trustees voted to proceed with option three. Under option three, TK-6 will be at the Matanzas Campus and RVCS will be combined at the Spring Creek Campus, see below.
For additional details, view the Staff presentation and recommendation (click link), made to the Board of Trustees at the January 14, 2020 meeting.
The District Staff and Board of Trustees used 16-point criteria for evaluating four options under consideration by the Board after the 5-month evaluation and public discussion that followed earlier years discussion of some of the campus reconfiguration possibilities. The reconfiguration of the Spring Creek, Sequoia and Matanzas campuses will allow for continued growth in programming as RVUSD strives to continue our legacy of excellence in early and middle school education. In the coming weeks, we will post additional information about the decision as well as a timeline for executing the plan. In the meantime, if you have any comments or questions about the Board’s action, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
