Dear Spring Creek Families,

I know that I said this in my last newsletter, but it is worth writing it again. I am so grateful to be leading Spring Creek Elementary. I absolutely love the Spring Creek children, families and staff. I feel grateful to be apart of the community.  A reminder that Monday Jan. 6th will be an early dismissal at 1:42.

I am excited to begin a new positive acknowledgement program called Proud Principal. When students demonstrate character traits such as kindness, respect, perseverance, hard work, etc., teachers will send them up to the office to receive a sticker that says “Your Principal is Proud of You.” Each Friday I will take photos of all of the students who were sent to the office and put the photo in my weekly newsletter. I am so excited to see kids in my office for making positive choices.

If your student is in the Variety Show here is the schedule:

The RVUSD is hosting an information night about Transitional Kindergarten also known as Kinder Bridge. If you have a child that you are considering enrolling in this program, I encourage you to attend Jan. 9th at 6:00 at the District OFfice 1000 Yulupa Ave.

You are invited to be a part of the parking solution. On Monday, Dec. 6th our PTA board members will be helping to educate drivers and pedestrians. We invite you to join us on Monday morning to help monitor parking and ask people to use the crosswalks. Anyone is welcome and we would appreciate your help.  I hope to see you Monday morning at 7:45 AM- 8:25. If you can help after school at 1:20 to 1:50 your help is appreciated.

Parking Reminders: Please follow the parking rules.

  • Parking at Beth Ami Church: Spring Creek families can only park in the far west parking lot that is closest to Whole Foods, not the parking lot near the Beth Ami preschool. We are fortunate that they share their parking lot with us. If we lose the relationship we have with Beth Ami Preschool, we will have no parking except the street. Please help be a part of the solution.

  • Staff parking lot is for staff and handicap only. We have staff coming and going all day. Our after school daycare employees arrive at the end of school and they need to be able to get into the lot to park.

  • I am very concerned: Students and parents are jaywalking. Parents are encouraging their children to run across the street without going to the cross walk. I am so worried that one of our students/families will get injured. To complicate this, we still have parents who are making U turns in the middle of the street and in our staff parking lot. This has to stop!!!! PLEASE! Our campus opens at 7:45 and supervision is provided for students a half hour before school. Please leave home earlier so you are not in a rush. Please be kind to our staff and volunteers who are helping to keep everyone safe.

  • A Solution in the DropOff/Pick Up: Please pull up all the way to the very front of the white zone when you arrive.  If someone in front of you pulls forward, please do the same. Hopefully we can keep the traffic flowing. The white zone is meant to be a very quick drop off and pick up. No braiding and combing hair, watching videos on your phone. Please do not park and leave your car.THIS IS A QUICK DROP OFF AND PICK UP ONLY!!! PLEASE!!! People complain about the frustration they feel with the drop off/pick up zone, so we all need to help. We are a TEAM. Thank you for your cooperation. We really appreciate it.

  • Parking Volunteers: Help Needed

We are looking for volunteers to help monitor drop off/pick up in front of the school. Even if you can only commit to one day or one morning or afternoon, we would appreciate your help. Please contact our office manager, Sarah Hall and let her know that day/s you would like to help.

Rainy Days: If it is raining at the start of school, students will go to the MPR to watch age appropriate G rated cartoons/movies or educational movies beginning at 7:45 AM. If it is raining during recesses, students will have indoor recess. If it is lightly drizzling, students will play outside.
