Dear Spring Creek Families,

I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful weekend. We are so fortunate to live in this beautiful area. Once again, I want to share how much I love being the principal at Spring Creek.  I want to remind you that we have early dismissal every day at 1:42 this week. Teachers will be conducting parent teacher conferences and you can shop at our exciting Book Faire. Students can shop at the Book Faire with an adult before or after school, at recesses when the door is open, and during their weekly library time. We can still use your help, especially during recess times. See sign up information below.

We have some fun events planned for March. See below for information. Due to Spring Break, our next Cheetah Awards Assembly will be Monday, March 23rd at 8:20, not the usual third Friday of the month.

Did you know that if you arrive 30 minutes late to school, or take your child out of school 30 minutes before the dismissal, it counts as an unexcused absence? If you have a doctor/dentist appointment or if the school calls you to pick up your child due to illness, it is excused. Remember to bring in a doctor's note.

Here is a message from the RVUSD regarding Teacher Requests:

As the 2019-20 school year approaches its last few months, planning for next year begins. With this in mind, starting this year, RVUSD has decided to no longer accept teacher requests or learning preference forms from parents/guardians in regards to their children’s placement into the next grade level. We are committed to balancing our classrooms and trust that our teachers will make the best classroom placement decisions for all of their students. We appreciate your support in this matter as we encourage fair and equitable practices for all.

Book Faire: Spring Creek is partnering with Scholastic to put on a Book Fair before and after school during conference week, 3/2-3/6. This amazing event takes place at the Spring Creek library. It promotes reading and raises much-needed money to replenish and/or update the Spring Creek library. Please sign up to help using the sign up genius link! We especially need afternoon cashiers!!!

If you have any questions please feel free to contact Kathy Pecsar at KPecsar@rvusd.org

Cardboard Challenge April 22 @ Matanzas Start collecting cardboard boxes, do not send them in yet. This is a fun evening event at 6PM.

Parking: Be a Part of the Solution: Thank you Spring Creek families for helping to be a part of the solution to our parking, pick up and drop off. I would love to have more parent/grandparent volunteer help, even if you only have 15 minutes. Thank you in advance for using the crosswalks only and staying in your vehicle in the white curb drop off zone. The idea is to keep pulling forward in the white zone. Please set an example for our students by using crosswalks.

Proud Principal:

When these students come up to the office, it makes me so happy. They get to sign the Proud Principal Poster, get a sticker that says, “My Principal is Proud of Me” and I have added a new happy dance when students come up. Seeing these students come up to the office looking so happy, brightens my day and  those who work in our office. Keep up the great work!
