Hello Spring Creek Families,                                                        4/13/20

We want to thank each of you for doing the best you can with distance learning and shelter in place.  We appreciate everything you are doing to care for, encourage, and help your children! Hearing the news that school would remain closed until the end of the school year was hard for many of us. As educators, we are devastated that we cannot be with your children. We are working hard to come up with solutions that will help children both educationally and socio-emotionally during this time. We don’t want any family to struggle, so please reach out. We are here to support you.

Here are some links and resources to ordering yearbooks and ways we can support you.

Spring Creek teachers and site and district administrators have been working hard to:

  • Provide structure and consistency for your children

  • Allow for different work times for families who need them

  • Allow teachers planning time

  • Allow for teachers to provide options and choice

  • Provide Chromebooks to families

  • Provide technical support Hotline 542-7375 EXt 1005 T-F 10:00-2:00

  • Offer counseling services

  • Call families who we have not been able to connect with yet.

All teachers schedule weekly live Zoom check-ins with students, Spring Creek Principal Mrs. Westrick and I are working to coordinate the Zoom meeting schedules so that families with multiple children don’t have Zoom meetings at the same time. We really encourage your students to participate in these meetings to see their classmates and teachers for some fun and check in time. I have also had a great time participating in these meetings and seeing all your children’s smiling faces--I really miss your kids!

Teachers are also providing lots of opportunities for online learning via SeeSaw or Google Classroom. If you have not been able to connect to your teachers’ platforms, please email your child’s teacher or me (skearney@rvusd.org) and we will work to ensure you have access. If you need help in Spanish, contact Jessica Torres at jtorres@rvusd.org. Si necesita ayuda en Español, puede contactar Jessica Torres: jtorres@rvusd.org .

At this time, we have cancelled all events leading up to the end of the school year. This is a huge disappointment for us as well. Please know that we want to celebrate everything your children have accomplished and help them move on to a new learning environment, and will continue to find new ways to support them in this process.

Please contact us with questions!  We are happy to support you and your children. Stay safe and know that we are missing you and our students! In case you missed the song I wrote and sang for the students, here it is sun to the tune of Old Town Road by Lill Nas X:
