MEET THE PRINCIPAL
Principal, Francis Binkley Elementary School
Hilary Kjaer has worked in the Rincon Valley Union School District since 1999. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the Hutchins School of Liberal Studies at Sonoma State University in 1998 and went on to Dominican University to earn her Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. She taught elementary students for 16 years at Binkley Elementary and went on to serve as the district’s English Learner Coordinator and Consulting Teacher, supporting all TK-8 teachers throughout the district with improving instruction and academic achievement for all students. In 2017, she returned to Sonoma State to earn her Administrative Services Credential and is currently working on completing a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership.
The Binkley community is one that Hilary holds very near and dear to her heart. She chose to have her own two daughters spend their elementary years here as students and knows how special the Binkley families and teachers are. In 2018, she was thrilled to be able to return as Binkley’s principal, to serve and give back to this community that helped mold her into the teacher and leader that she is today.
Hilary is a West Sonoma County native, and feels blessed that she and her husband have been able to raise their children just minutes away from where she grew up. When she’s not working she enjoys cooking, gardening, traveling and exploring all things outdoors with her family and friends.
