Principal, Austin Creek Elementary School

Jenny Lynch is the principal of Austin Creek Elementary School. Jenny was originally hired in the Rincon Valley School District in 1996 as a first grade teacher at Whited Elementary School. Jenny worked at Whited for 16 years as a first, second, and sixth grade teacher. In 2013, Jenny transitioned from teaching and accepted a principal position at Bellevue Elementary School. Two years later, Jenny returned to Rincon Valley as the principal of Austin Creek.

Although originally from Minnesota, Jenny spent her childhood traveling from state to state and attending many different kinds of K-12 schools. Jenny originally moved to Sonoma County to attend SRJC. After graduating from SRJC, Jenny attended and graduated with an MA in art studio from UC Davis. Jenny then received her teaching credential and masters in educational leadership from Chapman University.

Because Jenny traveled so much as a child, family, community, and stability are very important to her. As soon as Jenny moved to Sonoma County she recognized that Sonoma County is an incredible, supportive, family centered environment, and the perfect place to set down roots. After supporting her niece and nephew as they grew into happy, successful adults, Jenny is now looking forward to watching her grandniece enter Rincon Valley schools and begin the process again.

Another benefit of a childhood spent traveling is that Jenny understands how important it is to support each child. Jenny believes that every child has a special gift they can share with the world, and she works to support teachers, school staff, and parents in recognizing and supporting each and every student at Austin Creek. Jenny feels incredibly blessed to work in such a supportive, community-centered environment, where every adult is focused on student success.
