HANNAH BATES

Hannah Bates is the principal Spring Lake Middle School. Ms. Bates has worked in Rincon Valley Union School District since 2005, first as the After School Programs Director, then as a middle school teacher, and now as an administrator. She also taught fourth and fifth grade in Sonoma, after graduating from University of California, Davis and earning her credential from San Francisco State University. She grew up in Vermont and Sonoma, and is strongly connected to the local community in Sonoma County.

Ms. Bates is devoted to middle school teachers and staff, and is inspired daily by the incredible work in technology and project-based learning that happens at SLMS. She has worked at the district level with math implementation, and continues to support math education initiatives within the district. Ms. Bates lives in Santa Rosa with her husband Claud, and is also a parent in the district; she enjoys watching her two daughters thrive in the extraordinary educational setting provided in RVUSD.
