Binkley Elementary Charter School

Hello RVUSD Families. We have been informed that PG&E will not be turning off power this evening. PG&E will consider a power shutdown again tomorrow evening (Tuesday). ALL RVUSD schools and programs should be open tomorrow Tuesday, September 24th! We will let you know right away if anything changes.

REMINDER: Students will be dismissed early, at 1:57, all this week and next, due to parent teacher conferences.

The district has just received a 24 hr. warning of a potential power shutdown (sent at 9pm on Sunday). From the limited information given, it seems that the affected schools would be Madrone, Binkley, Whited, Sequoia, RVCS- Sequoia and Austin Creek. A few reminders: If power goes out during the school day, students will remain on campus through the end of the day. If power is out before school starts and is not expected to be restored promptly, schools will be closed.

What a heartwarming day of learning about acceptance and inclusion. Just Two Moms shared their stories and a beautiful book, Just Ask, with the students and teachers. They gave courageous students a safe platform to ask difficult questions and share their own stories about the challenges they face as students with Autism, ADHD, Diabetes, and Pachyonychia Congenita. Students are going into tomorrow encouraged to “Be The One” that others need them to be. 💛🤝💙

English Learner Advisory Council (ELAC) meeting tomorrow morning from 8:15 - 9:00 a.m. in the school office conference room. Please join in the conversation on how to best support English learners at Binkley. Spanish translation will be available. We want your voices heard!

AAA Safety Patrol is up and running! Select sixth grade students are patrolling the Binkley parking lot and they need your help. Thank you for driving slowly, obeying parking lot signs, keeping the flow of traffic moving, limiting cell phone usage, and having patience. 🚙 🚗

Binkley Bobcats are back in the swing of things this week! Specials have started and students are enjoying engaging experiences in music and PE. We crowned Mrs. Gallaway as RVUSD's Teacher of the Month for September. Our counselors, Ms. Cindy and Miss Helene are keeping students active at recess with a new jumprope club. Goooo Bobcats!

WOW! What an amazing, feel-good first day!! We welcomed Binkley students and families by grooving to tunes and sharing positive greetings. There were smiles galore!
