Dear RVUSD Families,
PG&E alerted us this morning that the district and many of our families will likely be impacted by a Planned Power Shutdown event scheduled over the next two days. We were informed that the following school sites will be de-energized for Tuesday and Wednesday during school hours: Austin Creek, Sequoia, RVCS- Sequoia, Whited, Binkley and Madrone. This power shutdown will impact our distance learning plans for the next two days. Please look for more information and details from your school principal and teachers over the course of this afternoon and evening. Regretfully Extended Care programs at those five sites will need to be closed for these two days.
Home Study and Rincon Valley Partnerships can also expect communication from your coordinators around learning expectations for the next couple of days.
For students who attend Spring Creek, Matanzas, RVCS- Matanzas and Village, you will also be getting information/details from your principals and teachers in regards to how this PSPS event might impact your child’s learning over the next two days. Although these schools will not be de-energized, learning could still be impacted by the power shutdown event happening elsewhere in our district.

MADRONE’S MEAL OUT - Thank you so much Rick and Linn Bruno for hosting a Take Out Dinner Night for Madrone Staff! What a wonderful way to give back to the community and honor all the hard working employees of RVUSD. We consider you honorary Mustangs!

A MEAL FOR MADRONE STAFF - A long time Sequoia Elementary family, the Brunos (owners of Bruno's on 4th and Ricky's Eastbound), recently approached the school district with an idea -- "Let's feed Rincon Valley teachers and staff!" In an effort to recognize all the hard working employees of RVUSD, Ricky's Eastbound will provide a take out dinner to all the employees of one RVUSD school per week over the next few months. A few generous community members donated the seed money to get this endeavor started. And, to keep it going, we need the support of our RVUSD families.
Madrone’s “Take Out Dinner Night” is this week!
Our teachers, administrators, aides, counselors, and custodians have been doing their very best to support our students during these challenging times. This is a great opportunity to show them our appreciation. A donation of just $15 could buy dinner for your favorite teacher, librarian or office manager! Please consider donating to the RVUSD Staff Appreciation Meal Fund by clicking this link to the PayPal page
https://www.paypal.me/rickyseastbound
or go to Ricky's Eastbound web site
https://www.rickyseastbound.com/
and look for the red "Donate to the RVUSD Staff Appreciation Meal Fund" button. Any amount you can contribute will be greatly appreciated!

A GIFT OF GRATITUDE - The Madrone PTA wanted a way to honor those who put so much of themselves into distance learning these last few months. These mugs were gifted to all staff with a note of appreciation: It takes a BIG heart to shape little minds.
Thank you for all you’ve done, all you do, and all you continue to do.

LAST DAYS DRIVE THROUGH - Tables and pop ups are being set in place for today and tomorrow’s farewell. Check the Pony Express sent yesterday for more details! We’ll see you soon!
