RVUSD Leadership Update: Announcement from the Board of Trustees

Dear RVUSD Community:

I hope the start of the school year has been invigorating for you!

I am writing to inform our staff and families about an imminent change in leadership at the district level. Our Superintendent, Mike Herfurth, has resigned to pursue an alternate career path and will be leaving RVUSD in early October. 

As you may know, Mike spent his entire career in Rincon Valley, and we are grateful for his 25+ years of service. The Board of Trustees is especially grateful for his steady leadership as our Interim Superintendent for almost two years. 

To make this transition as seamless as possible, the Board is working to secure an Interim Superintendent until we can engage in a search for a new Superintendent. I will report back out to our community when we have further details. 

The Board of Trustees is very sad to see Mike leave, but we wish him well in the next phase of his career.
