EXTENDED CARE PROGRAM

Rincon Valley Union School District operates an extended day care program for students at all elementary school sites before and after school. Extended Care is offered before school from 7:00 AM and after school until 6:00 PM. The Extended Care Program is designed to provide a safe and supervised environment for children. A variety of age-appropriate activities are planned which may include: table games, expressive play, arts and crafts, outdoor play, computer and homework time, story time and a daily snack.

Spring Day Camp Information

We conduct our registration in April of each year and our programs are now all full with wait lists.  We are no longer accepting registrations at this time.  To be placed on our wait list, please complete the following registration forms and turn them into the Extended Care Coordinator at your school site on the first day of school. Please do not submit Extended Care forms to the Office Manager at your school. Our rates are listed in the Registration Form. All three of the following forms are required to register. The Registration Form and the Student Info form must be submitted together to your Extended Care Coordinator.

Intersession Camps are not included in the regular school year and must be registered for separately. We conduct camps during Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer Break. Registration for those camps will occur approximately one month before they begin and space is limited. Exact dates of camp will be announced early in the school year.

After School Care at The Zones

Rincon Valley Union School District has a special relationship with The Zones. If you need after school care, and your student is at least 5 and going into Kindergarten, please consider registering with The Zones. Their website can be found here: https://www.thezonesyouth.org/

RVUSD provides bus transportation to The Zones. Simply complete the Transportation Request in your student's first day packet or with the Office Manager at your school and write The Zones as their destination.

Expanded Learning Opportunities Program

At RVUSD Extended Care and The Zones, if your student qualifies for the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP), RVUSD will pay for their tuition. Students qualify for ELOP funding if they are officially registered with RVUSD as one of the following:

  • Free and Reduced Lunch

  • English Language Learner

  • Foster or Homeless Youth

Free and Reduced Lunch must be applied for each year. Office Managers have Free and Reduced Lunch Applications and you can find them online here: https://www.myschoolapps.com/

If your student qualified for ELOP during the 2022-2023 school year, they will automatically receive funding through September 2023 for the 2023-2024. Please use this grace period to make sure your student is properly registered for ELOP in the coming school year.
